Vicki Genfan on this weekend’s Homegrown Show!

Vicki Genfan to be on my show this weekend.  Sunday Feb. 22 at 11am.  93.5 FM on the ol’ FM dial.  As usual, following the House of Blues with Elwood Blues.  I am honored to have Vicki on as a guest.  It should be a really awesome show, so try and tune in.

I had featured her here on Baub.com a few weeks ago, and she emailed me to say thanks for the feature.  So I just asked her and asked if she wanted to be on the show and viola! You can visit her website at www.vickigenfan.com.

Valentines Day in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Dana and I headed to Eureka Springs Arkansas this past Valentines’ Day weekend for a little get away!  We stayed at the 1886 Crescent Hotel which is supposed to be haunted.  It was a hotel until it was bought by a gentleman that thought he had a cure for cancer.  After many failed experiments and over 200 deaths there over 3 years he was arrested and then it was turned back into a hotel.  The hotel has also been featured on Ghost Hunters where they caught a full body apparition on the thermal imaging camera.  We unfortunately didn’t see any ghosts.  But we did run into a really great band called “Mountain Sprout”.  Take a listen I hope you like, they were really funny and entertaining!

The Wrong Way Feldmans finish Bonk Hard Chill!

Baub, Chris, Corey and Sonya

The Wrong Way Feldmans adventure racing team completed the 2009 Bonk Hard Chill 12 hour adventure race in the heart of the Ozarks.  And with only 2 minutes to spare before the final cut off time.  The team consisted of myself, Corey Case, Sonya Tomes, Chris Bopp.  Corey, Sonya and Chris all represented Red Wheel Bike shop in Jefferson City, while I represented  Oz Cycles here at the lake.  The course consisted of approximately 47 miles of biking, running/trekking, mountain biking and orienteering.  The weather was especially awesome this year!  The high for the day was around 66 degrees.  Two years ago I raced this race with a two person team, and the high for the day was 18 degrees.  It really made this years’ race enjoyable!  The race director Jason joked that maybe this years race be called the Bonk Hard Heat Wave!!!!

Special thanks goes out Dan Dugan from Oz Cycles for providing some last minute gear I needed.  I also want to thank my team for helping me after I twisted my ankle late in the race, without them I could not have finished!

Thanks to Jason and Laura for putting on another great adventure race in the Lake of the Ozarks State Park.  To check out the official race website: Bonk Hard Chill.
